Cambodian Gemstones
A large range of gemstones is found in Cambodia. The most valuable are rubies and sapphires, peridot, aquamarine, amethyst, citrine, topaz, agate, garnet and natural zircon. Most valuable stones are bought from Thai or Chinese traders, so few even know they came from Cambodia.
We are not gem dealers or even professionals. Our job is to bring sellers and interested buyers together and to ensure that trade is fair. Because that is the big concern of the Cambodian traders. You get scammed too often. On the other hand, inexperienced overseas buyers fear falling for scammers in Cambodia who want to sell cheap, factory-made stones as natural gemstones. Unfortunately, this also happens all too often. That’s why we intervened. We want to make the market transparent and fair, so that non-professionals or even farmers who have found one or the other beautiful stone while working on their fields can buy and sell fairly. We are able to mediate and, if required, provide the right experts for the analysis, certification, cut and finish.
In the area of gems I have 4 topics that we work on. First of all, we are always on the lookout for high quality sapphires and rubies for our exclusive clients in Thailand and overseas. The stones should be exceptional and have more than 10ct. Then we can present them. The second topic are clients from Cambodia who would like to bring their sapphires to the international markets. The stones are usually rough or cut and polished. In addition to the sapphires, some wonderful rubies are also on offer. The third theme is semi-precious stones from Cambodia, typically zirkons, citrines, agates, spinels and other secondary stones… all stones are untreated with a few exceptions. Almost any quantity is possible with the semi-precious stones and certainly one or the other highlight. The fourth theme in Gemstones is exploration. We are looking for investors for the Cambodian market in all areas of the economy, but also for gold and gemstone exploration and the setup of laboratories. Cambodia is very rich in natural resources and our wish is it to bring them to the international markets on a fair trade and wide range way. As consultants, we are able to mediate. We can establish the right contacts and obtain the necessary permits and licenses and implement the setup on site, professionally.
